چکیده
Abstract Except for a few stick insects that are economically valuable, most species be considered to forest pests, so it is extremely important obtain plant host-use information of more insects. In this paper, the hosts three were recorded first time. We also discovered these can feed upon flowers or leaves plants. Lopaphus unidentatus (Chen & He, 1995) (Phasmida: Lonchodidae) attacked Hypericum choisianum Wall. ex N. Robson, 1973 (Hypericaceae), Leurophasma dolichocercum Bi, 1995 Aschiphasmatidae) Antenoron filiforme (Thunb.) Roberty Vautier, 1964 (Polygonaceae) and Megalophasma granulatum Debregeasia orientalis C. J. Chen, 1991 (Urticaceae). Finally, we lucky enough photographs them mating feeding.

Cryptic diversity in Australian stick insects (Insecta; Phasmida) uncovered by the DNA barcoding approach.
The barcoding approach was applied to analyze 16 Australian morphospecies of the order Phasmida, with the aim to test if it could be suitable as a tool for phasmid species identification and if its discrimination power would allow uncovering of cryptic diversity. Both goals were reached. Eighty-two specimens representing twelve morphospecies (Sipyloidea sp. A, Candovia annulata, Candovia sp. A,...
متن کاملHybridogenesis and a potential case of R2 non-LTR retrotransposon horizontal transmission in Bacillus stick insects (Insecta Phasmida)
Horizontal transfer (HT) is an event in which the genetic material is transferred from one species to another, even if distantly related, and it has been demonstrated as a possible essential part of the lifecycle of transposable elements (TEs). However, previous studies on the non-LTR R2 retrotransposon, a metazoan-wide distributed element, indicated its vertical transmission since the Radiata-...

One hope of trying to understand why sex is so powerful and prevalent a mode of reproduction relies on the rare examples of animals that persist long-term without having sex. Now, several species of stick insects join that illustrious circle.
متن کاملStick Insects Walking Along Inclined Surfaces1
SYNOPSIS. In the experiments stick insects walk on an inclined substrate such that the legs of one side of the body point uphill and the legs of the other side point downhill. In this situation the vertical axis of the body is rotated against the inclination of the substrate as if to compensate for the effect of substrate inclination. A very small effect has been found when the experiment was p...
متن کاملStick insects: parthenogenesis, polyploidy and beyond
The most common way animals reproduce is bisexuality, namely through the mixis of male and female gametes. Bisexual reproduction relies on the Mendelian mechanism, although several additional modes also occur. In turn, the Mendelian inheritance of genetic variability stands on the meiotic process, which entrains recombination and chromosome reshuffling within the frame of a balanced segregation...
